Soft grey light all day today, with a working SSW breeze with the glass holding level. Start the search at Lac Sleeve along points where shallow meets deep. Save your energy for the night. Change depth before you change anything else. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

In Quebec, Lac Sleeve falls inside Lanaudière. Country round the bank runs to spruce and muskeg. With some 25 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Nearest town is Manawan, 10 km off. Beyond it, Saint-Michel-des-Saints at 60 km and Weymontachie at 91 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Fish documented in Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and rock bass. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Lac Sleeve gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
On the long-term average, July reads 17°C and January reads -16°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near mid November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Plan around that when you fish Lac Sleeve.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. If the gate is shut, Petit lac Natowe at 2.5 km is the nearest alternative. Confirm before you fish Lac Sleeve.
