Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a decent S wind working the banks with the glass holding level. Expect most activity at Lac Serge around the shallows early and the drop later. The night carries the best of the day. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Within Laurentides, Quebec, you have Lac Serge. It lies 451 metres above sea level. At roughly 7 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Nearest place of any size is Manawan, 49 km away. Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne is the closest city, 155 km away. Other water within reach: Lac Jean-Paul within 1.3 km, 1.4 km out stands Lac Daniel, Lac Nancy within 2 km, 2.1 km out stands Lac Offset and Lac Cindy within 2.5 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Open biodiversity records for Laurentides list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. At Lac Serge the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Temperature averages peak at 17°C in July and bottom out at -16°C in January. The ice season is long here and the open one short. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Anyone fishing Lac Serge regularly works to that calendar.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Fishing from a pier is possible 710 m away. A campsite is mapped about 600 m away, which makes an early start easier. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Jean-Paul, 1.3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Serge in particular, ask before you travel.
