Dull, settled light over the water, with barely a breath of wind and steady pressure. On Lac Seed, work structure within a cast of the bank first. The forecast is against you; the middle of the day is the least bad option. Short, focused sessions beat a long grind today. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Seed lies in Laurentides, in Quebec. It sits at 423 metres above sea level. It covers about 8 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. You are 90 km from Ferme-Neuve. Gatineau is the closest city, 218 km away. Alternatives close at hand: Lac Bart out at 2.7 km, Lac Robert (2.8 km), Lac Etoile out at 2.9 km, Lac Shark (3.6 km) and Lac Fiset out at 4.3 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Fish Lac Seed to its features, not to its size.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 17°C, while January sits near -17°C. This is a two-season water: locked, then wide open. Winter locks it down, and early May brings it back. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Lac Seed fishes to that pattern most years.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Failing this one, try Lac Bart, 2.7 km away. For Lac Seed in particular, ask before you travel.
