Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a kind S breeze on the water and no real change in pressure. Expect most activity at Lac Sainte-Marie around the margins and the shelf beyond them. Fair numbers all day without a real peak. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Quebec holds Lac Sainte-Marie, in Laurentides. This is lake country bush country. Surface area runs to about 3 hectares — small enough to read in one session. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Laurentides. La Minerve lies 5 km from the water. Then Labelle, 21 km, and Rivière-Rouge, 21 km. Within a short run: 0.9 km away is Lac Casavant, Lac Labranche within 1.2 km, 2.8 km away is Lac Equerre, Lac Oscar within 2.9 km and 2.9 km away is Lac Marie-Louise. No border sits close enough to matter.
Our records hold no depth for this water. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Lac Sainte-Marie gives up more to patience than to distance.
Climate normals give 18°C for July and -14°C for January. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Plan any trip to Lac Sainte-Marie around it.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Lac Casavant sits 0.9 km off and takes the overflow. None of that is settled for Lac Sainte-Marie in what we hold.
