Heavy overcast holding through the day, with almost no wind to speak of and pressure going nowhere. Expect most activity at Lac Sachee around the margins and the shelf beyond them. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Set in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Lac Sachee is a Quebec water. Country round the bank runs to pine and birch. The nearest place of any size is Deep River, 102 km away. Then Chalk River, 111 km, and Mattawa, 118 km. Not far off: Lac Hollard some 0.4 km off, Lac Bailleval roughly 1.6 km, Lac Tafia some 1.9 km off, Lac Taie roughly 2 km and Lac Coney some 2.2 km off. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Records held for Abitibi-Témiscamingue cover northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Lac Sachee responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Typical July readings run about 17°C; by January the average is down near -15°C. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near late April. The open-water window runs from around late April to about late November in an average year. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Lac Sachee runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
We hold no note on access for this one. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Hollard sits 0.4 km off and takes the overflow. Rules at Lac Sachee are worth checking on the day.
