A rainy spell sitting over the area, with next to no ripple with the glass holding level. Most of the action on Lac Ruelle should come off sheltered bays and points. The night carries the best of the day. Make the first hour count and build on it. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Ruelle is a Laurentides water, Quebec side. Elevation runs to 354 metres. At about 10 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The edge runs 1.6 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. The closest town, Manawan, is 78 km away. Ferme-Neuve lies 85 km off, Mont-Laurier another 102 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Laurentides records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout among the fish reported. The county list is broader than any single water. Treat Lac Ruelle as a water to read rather than to cover.
The year swings from about -16°C in January to roughly 17°C in July. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. Climate figures give an open season running early May to mid November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. On Lac Ruelle the same rules apply, with local timing.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Dunbar at 1.4 km is the sensible second choice. Signs at Lac Ruelle carry more weight than any list.
