A crisp, open sky after dark, with light air out of the W with the barometer flat. Fish at Lac Ruca should hold close to bays that hold the day's warmth. Fair numbers all day without a real peak. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

You will find Lac Ruca in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. It sits at 358 metres above sea level. The water measures roughly 2 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. Our Abitibi-Témiscamingue list holds plenty of bigger water. For supplies, Senneterre is 101 km out. The big place round here is Gatineau, 244 km distant. No border sits close enough to matter.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Species logged across Abitibi-Témiscamingue include northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. On Lac Ruca that means starting tight and working out.
Typical July readings run about 17°C; by January the average is down near -17°C. The ice season is long here and the open one short. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Expect Lac Ruca to follow that timing.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. For a change of water, Lac Pue is 0.5 km distant. For Lac Ruca in particular, ask before you travel.
