Dull, settled light over the water, with mild air moving in from the NNW with the glass holding level. Start the search at Lac Rocheron along any hard bottom among the soft. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. A properly cold day, so expect slow, deliberate fishing.

Lac Rocheron falls in Côte-Nord, part of Quebec. The bank is 444 metres above sea level. Roughly 7.25 sq km of surface: treat each bay as a water in its own right. There is roughly 30 km of bank, and each arm behaves like its own water. It is among the larger waters listed here for Côte-Nord. Nearest town is Kuujjuaq, 262 km off. Labrador City is 322 km and Wabush 328 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. County-wide records name logperch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Read Lac Rocheron for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Average temperature peaks around 12°C in July and bottoms out near -25°C in January. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early June. Climate figures give an open season running early June to late October. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. Expect Lac Rocheron to follow that timing.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. For a change of water, Lac Morambert is 5.3 km distant. Confirm access to Lac Rocheron locally before you travel.
