A closed sky with even light today, with a faint SSW drift with a settled glass. The water to cover at Lac Robert is sheltered bays and points. Numbers are low everywhere; the middle of the day is the pick of them. Take the small wins and call it early if it dies. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Robert is listed under Laurentides, Quebec. The ground round it is rolling bush. This is a pocket water of some 2 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. On size it sits at the modest end of our Laurentides list. Saint-Boniface lies 55 km from the water. The nearest city of size is Gatineau, 171 km away. No border sits close enough to matter.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Species logged across Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. The near bank of Lac Robert is often the one people ignore.
Climate normals give 18°C for July and -16°C for January. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Robert.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. For a change of water, Lac Angus is 0.4 km distant. Signs at Lac Robert carry more weight than any list.
