Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a faint SSW drift with a settled glass. The productive water at Lac Rita will be around shallow cover and weed edges. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Rita is one of the Mauricie waters in Quebec. It sits in spruce and muskeg country. The water covers some 13 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. For supplies, Weymontachie is 33 km out. Then Manawan, 60 km, and La Tuque, 82 km. Within a short drive: Lac Hill sits 0.6 km out, Lac Irwin 0.7 km away, Lac Grant sits 0.7 km out, Lac Vassar 1.5 km away and Lac Vandal sits 1.6 km out. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Mauricie records list northern pike, brook trout and walleye among the fish reported. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Lac Rita fishes better once you know its edges.
Long-run averages give July about 16°C and January about -16°C. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. That shapes the year on Lac Rita.
No access rule appears in what we hold. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, Lac Hill is 0.6 km off. Where Lac Rita is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
