A crisp, open sky after dark, with stillness over the whole water with the barometer flat. Fish at Lac Rhodium should hold close to any hard bottom among the soft. A hard day on paper; the morning edges the rest. Go lighter and slower than usual. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Abitibi-Témiscamingue in Quebec is where Lac Rhodium sits. It sits at 365 metres above sea level. With some 21 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The full circuit measures close to 2.7 km on foot. Saint-Boniface lies 110 km from the water. It is 225 km to Gatineau, the nearest city. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Reported across Abitibi-Témiscamingue: northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Fish Lac Rhodium to its features, not to its size.
The warm month here averages 17°C; the cold one sits at -17°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. The season on Lac Rhodium rarely departs from it.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. For a change of water, Lac Fragon is 0.8 km distant. Confirm access to Lac Rhodium locally before you travel.
