Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a stiffish breeze from the SW and no real change in pressure. Start the search at Lac Rho along the weed line and any gaps in it. If you pick one session, make it the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Night
Lac Rho is one of the Lanaudière listings for Quebec. Everything around it is northern bush. At about 23 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. With about 2.2 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. Manawan at 29 km is the nearest place to stop. Trois-Rivières is the closest city, 160 km away. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Species logged across Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. The shape of Lac Rho decides where the fish sit.
Averages here run 17°C at the top of summer and -16°C at the bottom of winter. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. Winter locks it down, and early May brings it back. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. At Lac Rho the season follows that pattern closely.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac Atimokatci, 2.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Lac Rho as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
