Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a proper ripple driven from the SW with the glass holding level. Expect most activity at Lac Kawakikamacik around windblown banks where food collects. The night carries the best of the day. Make the first hour count and build on it. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

You will find Lac Kawakikamacik in Lanaudière, Quebec. Height above sea level is 449 metres. It measures about 47 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The edge covers about 5.1 km, enough to hold several distinct areas. On our Lanaudière list it sits near the top for size. Supplies mean a trip to Manawan, 25 km off. After that come Weymontachie at 69 km and Saint-Michel-des-Saints at 72 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Species logged across Lanaudière include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Work Lac Kawakikamacik in sections rather than trying to cover it.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -16°C. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. Break-up near early May, freeze-up near mid November: that is the shape of an average year. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. On Lac Kawakikamacik the same rules apply, with local timing.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Lac Tcak, 2.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback.
