An even grey lid over the water, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSW and steady pressure. Activity on Lac Renaud should centre on points where shallow meets deep. A slow day overall; the evening is the best of a quiet lot. Lower the pace and stay patient. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Night
Lac Renaud lies in Côte-Nord, in Quebec. It sits 15 km in from the sea. Roughly 21 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. There is roughly 3.1 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Ground here is low by Quebec standards. Baie-Comeau is the closest town at 29 km. Further out sit Hauterive (36 km) and Chute-aux-Outardes (50 km). The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Species logged across Côte-Nord include logperch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. At Lac Renaud light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Climate records put July near 16°C and January near -16°C. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. Plan around that when you fish Lac Renaud.
Our records carry no access rule either way. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac Moreau, 2.3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. The position on Lac Renaud is worth confirming on the day.
