Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a faint W drift and steady pressure. Expect most activity at Lac Remillac around the shallows early and the drop later. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Remillac is an Abitibi-Témiscamingue water, in Quebec. Around the bank it is pine and birch. The water covers some 33 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. The bank runs about 3.6 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. The nearest place of any size is Rouyn-Noranda, 26 km away. It is 240 km to Greater Sudbury, the nearest city. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Abitibi-Témiscamingue records list northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker among the fish reported. The county list is broader than any single water. On Lac Remillac the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Average temperature peaks around 17°C in July and bottoms out near -17°C in January. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. At Lac Remillac the season follows that pattern closely.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Should this one be busy, Lac Dortet is 1.1 km off. Check the current arrangement for Lac Remillac.
