No direct sun expected today, with a stiffish breeze from the SSW and the barometer holding steady. Most of the action on Lac Raquette should come off any hard bottom among the soft. Save your energy for the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Raquette is a Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean water, Quebec side. Height above sea level is 380 metres. With some 27 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Roughly 2.9 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. The closest town, Métabetchouan, is 30 km away. Then Chambord, 34 km, and Desbiens, 38 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Survey and observation records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lac Raquette fishes better once you know its edges.
Typical July readings run about 17°C; by January the average is down near -17°C. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around early May. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near mid November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Expect Lac Raquette to follow that timing.
The access position is unclear from public sources. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Failing this one, try Lac Adolph, 1 km away. None of that is settled for Lac Raquette in what we hold.
