An even grey lid over the water, with barely a breath of wind and pressure sitting still. On Lac Ramier, work the margins and the shelf beyond them first. Little to get excited about, though the evening holds a sliver of promise. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Set in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Lac Ramier is a Quebec water. The surface lies 744 metres up. Surface area runs to about 7 hectares — small enough to read in one session. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. For supplies, Saint-Honoré is 39 km out. Further out sit Saint-Fulgence (44 km) and Saint-Ambroise (47 km). This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Survey and observation records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Lac Ramier gives up more to patience than to distance.
Expect July near 15°C and January near -19°C on the long-run figures. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough mid May. From about mid May to around early November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. That is the shape of the year on Lac Ramier.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Should this one be busy, Lac Le Breton is 0.7 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Ramier in what we hold.
