Overcast skies today, with an easy breeze from the SSW with the glass holding level. Expect most activity at Lac Rabodeau around the weed line and any gaps in it. If you must go, go in the morning. Treat it as a scouting trip with a rod in hand. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

In Quebec, Lac Rabodeau belongs to Outaouais. Height above sea level is 356 metres. With some 34 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Around 4.0 km of margin, front to back. Size puts it in the front rank of our Outaouais list. Some 59 km away sits Saint-Boniface, the nearest settlement. Then Maniwaki, 70 km, and Saint-Raphaël, 80 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Species logged across Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. On Lac Rabodeau that means starting tight and working out.
Long-term averages put July at about 17°C and January near -17°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Break-up near early May, freeze-up near late November: that is the shape of an average year. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Lac Rabodeau fishes to that pattern most years.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Failing this one, try Lac Tee, 1.3 km away. Confirm access to Lac Rabodeau locally before you travel.
