Solid cloud cover today, with a light S breeze with a settled glass. The water to cover at Lac Proctor is the seam between weed and open water. The strongest window is the morning. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Proctor lies within the bounds of Laurentides, Quebec. Height above sea level is 341 metres. The water covers some 20 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. There is roughly 3.2 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. The town to know is Saint-Adolphe-d'Howard, 12 km out. Then Morin-Heights, 18 km, and Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, 20 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Across Laurentides, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac Proctor repays a walk before the first cast.
Long-run averages give July about 18°C and January about -14°C. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about late April until roughly late November. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Expect Lac Proctor to follow that timing.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac des Pins, 2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position on Lac Proctor before loading the car.
