A closed sky with even light today, with a decent SSW wind working the banks with a settled glass. Most of the action on Lac Priver should come off structure within a cast of the bank. Make the night the heart of the trip. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

You will find Lac Priver in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. The bank is 422 metres above sea level. Around 14 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The whole outline is near 2.4 km, and most of it is walkable. Nearest place of any size is Chapais, 91 km away. For a city, Saguenay is 243 km off. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. At Lac Priver light and wind decide more than tackle does.
The warmest month averages 16°C, the coldest about -18°C. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. On Lac Priver the same rules apply, with local timing.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac Querry, 1.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Lac Priver as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
