Showers crossing the water today, with the surface near flat and no real change in pressure. Expect most activity at Lac Po around the shaded margin through bright spells. Make the night the heart of the trip. Make the first hour count and build on it. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Set in Mauricie, Quebec, this is Lac Po. Country round the bank runs to northern bush. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. The closest town, Weymontachie, is 55 km away. Saguenay is the closest city, 160 km away. Within easy reach: Lac Topaze about 1.1 km, Lac Suzanne within 1.7 km, Lac du Martyre about 1.8 km, Lac Emeraude within 2 km and Lac Saphir about 2.1 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
No published figure covers depth, so learn it as you fish. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. County-wide records name northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. On Lac Po that means starting tight and working out.
Climate records put July near 16°C and January near -18°C. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Expect Lac Po to follow that timing.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lac Topaze sits 1.1 km off and takes the overflow. Where Lac Po is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
