Dull, settled light over the water, with the surface near flat and the barometer holding steady. The water to cover at Lac Plumeau is sheltered bays and points. If you must go, go in the night. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Plumeau stands in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. Country round the bank runs to mixed forest. Roughly 30 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. There is roughly 4.2 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Nearest place of any size is Notre-Dame-du-Lac, 33 km away. Beyond it, Témiscaming at 38 km and Ville-Marie at 65 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Reported across Abitibi-Témiscamingue: northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker. The county list is broader than any single water. Fish Lac Plumeau where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Between January at about -14°C and July at about 18°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. That shapes the year on Lac Plumeau.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. For a change of water, Lac Scion is 0.5 km distant. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Plumeau for certain.
