Sunshine start to finish today, with the surface near flat with the barometer flat. Start the search at Lac Gigot along reed fringes and open pockets. Not a day the forecast likes; the night keeps a flicker of interest. Lower the pace and stay patient. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Look for Lac Gigot in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. Around the bank it is lake country bush. Around 11 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. About 1.6 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. Some 34 km away sits Notre-Dame-du-Lac, the nearest settlement. The nearest city of size is Greater Sudbury, 178 km away. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Abitibi-Témiscamingue records list northern pike, yellow perch and walleye among the fish reported. The county list is broader than any single water. The near bank of Lac Gigot is often the one people ignore.
Expect July near 18°C and January near -14°C on the long-run figures. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. On average, late April opens the water and late November closes it again. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Lac Gigot fishes to that pattern most years.
Access is not recorded for this water. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. The nearest alternative is Lac des Coptides, 1 km out. None of that is settled for Lac Gigot in what we hold.
