An even grey lid over the water, with a kind S breeze on the water and pressure sitting still. Whatever swims in Lac Pineault should be near sheltered bays and points. The day peaks in the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Mauricie in Quebec is where Lac Pineault sits. It stands 334 metres above sea level. With some 35 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. With 5.8 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. You are 37 km from Weymontachie. The big place round here is Trois-Rivières, 161 km distant. No border sits close enough to matter.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Survey and observation records for Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout and walleye. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. On Lac Pineault the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Between January at about -16°C and July at about 17°C, the water has a wide range to work through. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. In an average year the thaw lands around late April and the freeze near mid November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. On Lac Pineault the same rules apply, with local timing.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac Charland sits 1.6 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing on Lac Pineault should be assumed from this page alone.
