Damp, showery conditions today, with air barely moving and steady pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Pierron should be near windblown banks where food collects. The night should out-fish the rest of the day. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

This water sits in Lanaudière, Quebec. Everything around it is taiga. Roughly 2.73 sq km of surface: treat each bay as a water in its own right. Some 11 km of bank gives room to move when the wind turns. It ranks high for size among our Lanaudière listings. Manawan lies 37 km from the water. After that come Saint-Michel-des-Saints at 39 km and Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm at 64 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Across Lanaudière, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Lac Pierron responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Climate records put July near 17°C and January near -16°C. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. After early May the shallows warm and the fish move up. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Expect Lac Pierron to follow that timing.
Our records carry no access rule either way. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Should this one be busy, Lac Muloin is 2.3 km off. Check the position on Lac Pierron before loading the car.
