Bands of rain crossing through the day, with air barely moving with the glass holding level. Start the search at Lac Pierrette along the calm side of the wind. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

The Lanaudière end of Quebec holds Lac Pierrette. The bank is 465 metres above sea level. At roughly 6 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. You are 36 km from Manawan. For a city, Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne is 139 km off. Round about: Lac Pierre at about 0.9 km, Lac Kempt within 1.8 km, Lac Gilles at about 3.3 km, Lac Pierron within 3.9 km and Lac du Bouleau at about 4.5 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. The county list is broader than any single water. On Lac Pierrette a short move beats a long cast.
The range across the year is -16°C to 17°C. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Climate averages put the opening at about early May and the closing near mid November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. The season on Lac Pierrette rarely departs from it.
The access position is unclear from public sources. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Lac Pierre, 0.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm access to Lac Pierrette locally before you travel.
