Soft grey light all day today, with light air out of the WSW with the barometer flat. Most of the action on Lac Perdu should come off the shaded margin through bright spells. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

You will find Lac Perdu in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. It sits 38 km in from the sea. Small at around 4 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. You are 42 km from Saint-Fulgence. For a city, Saguenay is 53 km off. Other water nearby: Lac Gilles at 0.5 km, Lac Le Marie just 1.4 km, Lac Paul at 1.9 km, Lac Baril just 1.9 km and Lac du Cheval at 2.2 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Survey and observation records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lac Perdu fishes better once you know its edges.
Expect July near 15°C and January near -19°C on the long-run figures. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from mid May. Open water usually runs from mid May until about early November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lac Perdu fishes to that pattern most years.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. For a change of water, Lac Gilles is 0.5 km distant. Confirm access to Lac Perdu locally before you travel.
