Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with light air out of the SSE and the barometer holding steady. Expect most activity at Lac Perdrix around any hard bottom among the soft. Expect the better fishing from morning through afternoon. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

You will find Lac Perdrix in Capitale-Nationale, Quebec. The surface lies 284 metres up. About 2 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. On size it sits at the modest end of our Capitale-Nationale list. Supplies mean a trip to Laurentides, 15 km off. For a city, Sainte-Foy is 69 km off. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Across Capitale-Nationale, recorded fish include lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon, longnose sucker, sauger and channel catfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. At Lac Perdrix light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Long-term averages put July at about 18°C and January near -15°C. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Count the season from break-up, usually late April. Break-up near late April, freeze-up near late November: that is the shape of an average year. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. On Lac Perdrix the same rules apply, with local timing.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. A car park sits roughly 280 m away. For walleye, a jig and minnow near the bottom is the standard; evenings beat middays. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. For a change of water, Lac Massiat is 1.3 km distant. Nothing on Lac Perdrix should be assumed from this page alone.
