Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a light SW breeze with the glass holding level. Give the shaded margin through bright spells the first hour at Lac Pece. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Pece stands in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec. Boreal forest runs right down to the water. Val-d'Or is the closest place, 71 km off. After that come Senneterre at 88 km and Malartic at 91 km. Also on the doorstep: Lac Janson at 0.6 km, Lac Fenugrec 1 km off, Lac Ischion at 1.1 km, Lac Lebel 1.4 km off and Lac de l'Abandon at 1.5 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
We hold no depth figure for this one. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Survey and observation records for Abitibi-Témiscamingue include northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Work Lac Pece in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Averages here run 17°C at the top of summer and -16°C at the bottom of winter. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about mid November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Lac Pece runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Should this one be busy, Lac Janson is 0.6 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Pece in what we hold.
