Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a faint S drift and the barometer holding steady. Fish at Lac Pascale should hold close to structure within a cast of the bank. If you must go, go in the morning. Treat it as a scouting trip with a rod in hand. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Pascale stands in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. Height above sea level is 665 metres. The water covers some 24 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Bank access stretches around 3.5 km in total. It is high ground by Quebec standards. Saint-Fulgence at 63 km is the nearest place to stop. The big place round here is Saguenay, 74 km distant. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Species logged across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Lac Pascale responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Averages here run 15°C at the top of summer and -18°C at the bottom of winter. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough mid May. From about mid May to around early November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Plan around that when you fish Lac Pascale.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Rivard at 0.7 km is the sensible second choice. For Lac Pascale in particular, ask before you travel.
