Solid cloud cover today, with almost no wind to speak of and pressure sitting still. The fish at Lac Orgon are likely to sit near the calm side of the wind. The day peaks in the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Quebec holds Lac Orgon, in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean. The setting is spruce and muskeg. About 5 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. Head to Leblanc, 94 km away, for anything you forgot. Normandin lies 102 km off, Chibougamau another 102 km. Other water nearby: Lac Couet at about 0.6 km, Lac Sanvic about 1 km, Lac Angos at about 1.4 km, Lac Chatou about 1.7 km and Lac Ereac at about 1.9 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
We hold no depth figure for this one. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Open biodiversity records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. On Lac Orgon that means starting tight and working out.
Temperature averages peak at 16°C in July and bottom out at -18°C in January. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early May until roughly mid November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. That is the shape of the year on Lac Orgon.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. The nearest alternative is Lac Couet, 0.6 km out. Confirm access to Lac Orgon locally before you travel.
