Solid cloud cover today, with barely a breath of wind and pressure sitting still. Start the search at Lac Ollieres along sheltered bays and points. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Ollieres is set in Outaouais, Quebec. The bank is 400 metres above sea level. It measures about 80 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. Around 5.7 km of bank, which is a long day on foot. Size puts it in the front rank of our Outaouais list. Nearest town is Saint-Boniface, 102 km off. Then Deep River, 106 km, and Maniwaki, 111 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. At Lac Ollieres light and wind decide more than tackle does.
On the long-term average, July reads 17°C and January reads -16°C. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. Break-up sits around early May on average, with the water closing again about late November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Lac Ollieres fishes to that pattern most years.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac des Peupliers, 1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position on Lac Ollieres before loading the car.
