Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a faint SW drift with a settled glass. Give sheltered bays and points the first hour at Lac Nugent. A grinding day likely, with the morning worth the effort if any is. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Nugent sits in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, out in Quebec. The land about it is taiga. Roughly 56 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. With 5.5 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. It is among the larger waters listed here for Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Val-d'Or is the closest town at 74 km. After that come Senneterre at 75 km and Barraute at 91 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Species logged across Abitibi-Témiscamingue include northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Treat Lac Nugent as a water to read rather than to cover.
Typical July readings run about 17°C; by January the average is down near -17°C. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early May. Break-up sits around early May on average, with the water closing again about mid November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. Plan any trip to Lac Nugent around it.
Public data does not answer the access question here. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. For a change of water, Lac du Veneur is 1.1 km distant. Rules at Lac Nugent are worth checking on the day.
