Solid cloud cover today, with light air out of the SSW and no real change in pressure. Start the search at Lac Noulos along points where shallow meets deep. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Look for Lac Noulos in the Outaouais part of Quebec. The setting is pine and birch on every side. The water measures roughly 6 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. For supplies, Saint-Boniface is 28 km out. The nearest city of size is Gatineau, 140 km away. Others within reach: Lac Rubaine at about 1.3 km, Lac Poilhes about 1.6 km, Lac Noah at about 2.2 km, Lac Valreas about 2.3 km and Lac Urio at about 2.3 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Public occurrence data for Outaouais names pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Treat Lac Noulos as a water to read rather than to cover.
Averages move between -15°C in January and 18°C in July. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. Ice clears near late April and comes back about late November in a typical year. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Plan around that when you fish Lac Noulos.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Rubaine sits 1.3 km off and takes the overflow. None of that is settled for Lac Noulos in what we hold.
