Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a kind S breeze on the water and the barometer holding steady. On Lac Norbert, work the seam between weed and open water first. A tough forecast; the morning offers the only real chance. Treat it as a scouting trip with a rod in hand. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

In Quebec, Lac Norbert falls inside Côte-Nord. Beyond the shoreline you have spruce and muskeg. Small at around 7 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. On size it sits at the modest end of our Côte-Nord list. Saint-Honoré sits 103 km from the bank. The big place round here is Saguenay, 114 km distant. Nearby, in order: Lac Trompeur 0.7 km away, Lac Matou out at 1.7 km, Lac Gemini 1.8 km away, Lac Calif out at 2 km and Lac Elise 2.3 km away. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Records held for Côte-Nord cover logperch. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Anyone new to Lac Norbert should walk it once before setting up.
Average temperature peaks around 15°C in July and bottoms out near -19°C in January. Winter owns most of the year at this latitude. Ice-out usually falls in mid May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Expect the water usable from around mid May until roughly early November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. It holds true on Lac Norbert more years than not.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. For a change of water, Lac Trompeur is 0.7 km distant. Where Lac Norbert is concerned, a local answer beats a written one.
