A rainy spell sitting over the area, with a whisper of wind from the S with the glass holding level. On Lac Noll, work the first drop-off and weed lines first. The day peaks in the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Look for Lac Noll in Laurentides, Quebec. Height above sea level is 246 metres. Surface area runs to about 6 hectares — small enough to read in one session. Supplies mean a trip to Maniwaki, 20 km off. Further out sit Mont-Laurier (25 km) and Saint-Boniface (26 km). Also within reach: Petit lac Seguin at 1.3 km, Lac Seguin just 1.7 km, Lac Salomon-Lariviere at 1.8 km, Lac Bleu just 2.3 km and Lac Bella at 2.3 km. A border sits close enough to be relevant to the paperwork.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. The shape of Lac Noll rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Average temperature peaks around 18°C in July and bottoms out near -14°C in January. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. On average, late April opens the water and late November closes it again. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. The season on Lac Noll follows the weather closely.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Failing this one, try Petit lac Seguin, 1.3 km away. Check the position on Lac Noll before loading the car.
