Steady rain over the water today, with a kind S breeze on the water and pressure going nowhere. Activity on Lac Ayotte should centre on the margins and the shelf beyond them. One clear peak today: the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lac Ayotte sits in Laurentides, out in Quebec. Beyond the shoreline you have rolling bush. The water covers some 18 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Roughly 2.2 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. Maniwaki lies 19 km from the water. Saint-Raphaël is 25 km away, with Saint-Boniface at 26 km. The county edge is within a short distance of the bank.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Laurentides records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout among the fish reported. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Fish Lac Ayotte where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Typical July readings run about 18°C; by January the average is down near -14°C. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around late April. Open water usually runs from late April until about late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Plan around that when you fish Lac Ayotte.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Should this one be busy, Lac Castor is 1.5 km off. Check the position on Lac Ayotte before loading the car.
