Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a soft S wind and no real change in pressure. Lac Noir should fish best around windblown banks where food collects today. One clear peak today: the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Noir is one of the Outaouais waters in Quebec. The water sits 179 metres up. At about 11 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. About 1.5 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. By elevation it sits in the lower part of our Quebec listings. Ripon is the closest place, 3 km off. The big place round here is Orléans, 45 km distant. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Open biodiversity records for Outaouais list pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Anyone new to Lac Noir should walk it once before setting up.
Long-run averages give July about 19°C and January about -13°C. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around late April. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly early December. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. That is the shape of the year on Lac Noir.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Failing this one, try Lac des Vieux Cregheur, 2.7 km away. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Noir for certain.
