Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a helpful ripple pushed from the S and no real change in pressure. Lac Mud should fish best around windblown banks where food collects today. A tough forecast; the morning offers the only real chance. Treat it as a scouting trip with a rod in hand.

Look for Lac Mud in the Laurentides part of Quebec. The bank is 209 metres above sea level. The water covers some 11 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. About 2.4 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. It lies lower than most water we list in Quebec. Lac-Simon at 1.9 km is the nearest place to stop. Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne is the closest city, 91 km away. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Species logged across Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. At Lac Mud light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Averages move between -14°C in January and 18°C in July. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. It holds true on Lac Mud more years than not.
Access is not recorded for this water. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Public data records a pier about 1.3 km out. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Rond, 0.8 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing on Lac Mud should be assumed from this page alone.
