Heavy overcast holding through the day, with calm air over the water and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on Lac Mozbas should come off the shallows early and the drop later. The strongest window is the morning. Small adjustments will matter more than big moves. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Set in Mauricie, Lac Mozbas is a Quebec water. Country round the bank runs to mixed forest. At 2 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. It is a small entry by Mauricie standards. La Tuque is the closest place, 40 km off. After that come Laurentides at 76 km and Weymontachie at 78 km. Within a short run: Lac Pezo within 0.9 km, Lac Rameau 1.6 km away, Lac Kwni within 2 km, Lac Tapini 2 km away and Lac Pakwa within 2 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Records held for Mauricie cover northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Anyone new to Lac Mozbas should walk it once before setting up.
Typical July readings run about 17°C; by January the average is down near -16°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Break-up comes around early May, and the run that follows is short and strong. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. On Lac Mozbas that shapes the whole year.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. For a change of water, Lac Pezo is 0.9 km distant. Confirm before you fish Lac Mozbas.
