A mixed sky through the night, with a stiffish breeze from the WNW and no real change in pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Morin should be near sheltered bays and points. A slow day overall; the evening is the best of a quiet lot. Lower the pace and stay patient. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

The Côte-Nord end of Quebec holds Lac Morin. Salt water lies 14 km off. This is a pocket water of some 6 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Our Côte-Nord list holds plenty of bigger water. Head to Saint-Alexandre, 62 km away, for anything you forgot. After that come Port-Cartier at 63 km and Baie-Comeau at 67 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Côte-Nord records list logperch among the fish reported. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. At Lac Morin the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 16°C, while January sits near -15°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Lac Morin runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Lac Paul, 1.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Morin for certain.
