An even grey lid over the water, with hardly a ripple anywhere with the barometer flat. Whatever swims in Lac Mole should be near the seam between weed and open water. The day peaks in the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Mole sits in Laurentides, out in Quebec. This is boreal forest ground. It measures about 13 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. There is roughly 2.7 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Head to Ferme-Neuve, 87 km away, for anything you forgot. Manawan is 91 km away, with Mont-Laurier at 103 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Open biodiversity records for Laurentides list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Lac Mole responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Temperature averages peak at 17°C in July and bottom out at -17°C in January. Cold dominates the calendar on water this far north. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. The season on Lac Mole rarely departs from it.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Should this one be busy, Lac du Corridor is 1.9 km off. The position on Lac Mole is worth confirming on the day.
