A rainy spell sitting over the area, with light air out of the SSW and pressure going nowhere. On Lac Mitzi, work the weed line and any gaps in it first. Little to get excited about, though the middle of the day holds a sliver of promise. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Set in Outaouais, Lac Mitzi is a Quebec water. Country round the bank runs to mixed forest. With some 12 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The edge runs 1.5 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Saint-Boniface lies 27 km from the water. Gatineau sits 127 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Reported across Outaouais: pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Treat Lac Mitzi as a water to read rather than to cover.
July runs about 18°C on average, January about -15°C. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. In an average year the thaw lands around late April and the freeze near late November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. On Lac Mitzi the same rules apply, with local timing.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. For a change of water, Lac de la Mule is 3.8 km distant. Confirm access to Lac Mitzi locally before you travel.
