Flat light and a covered sky today, with enough S wind to stack food downwind and pressure going nowhere. Give shallow cover and weed edges the first hour at Lac Mink. Save your energy for the night. Work the productive water thoroughly. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

You will find Lac Mink in Outaouais, Quebec. The bank gives way to mixed forest. Small at around 8 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Ground here is low by Quebec standards. The nearest place of any size is Saint-Raphaël, 30 km away. It is 64 km to Gatineau, the nearest city. This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Outaouais records list pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass among the fish reported. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. The near bank of Lac Mink is often the one people ignore.
Climate records put July near 19°C and January near -13°C. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about early December. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Lac Mink runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac des Loups, 0.8 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing on Lac Mink should be assumed from this page alone.
