Overcast skies today, with a gentle ripple from the SSW and no real change in pressure. Start the search at Lac Milushishu along inflow corners and shaded margins. Numbers are low everywhere; the evening is the pick of them. Lower the pace and stay patient. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Milushishu belongs to Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. The water sits 647 metres up. Surface area runs to about 5 hectares — small enough to read in one session. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. Nearest town is Saint-Honoré, 55 km off. Saguenay sits 66 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. County-wide records name northern pike, Atlantic salmon and lake whitefish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. At Lac Milushishu the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Climate records put July near 15°C and January near -19°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around mid May. The open-water window runs from around mid May to about early November in an average year. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Expect Lac Milushishu to follow that timing.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Public data records a boat ramp 1.5 km out. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Lac du Presage, 0.8 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm access to Lac Milushishu locally before you travel.
