Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a kind S breeze on the water and steady pressure. The productive water at Lac Mesahikun will be around any hard bottom among the soft. The night is where the day comes good. Make the first hour count and build on it. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Mesahikun is listed under Mauricie, Quebec. This is taiga country. This is a pocket water of some 4 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. On size it sits at the modest end of our Mauricie list. Weymontachie is the closest town at 34 km. Leblanc lies 63 km off, La Tuque another 97 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Public occurrence data for Mauricie names northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Lac Mesahikun fishes better once you know its edges.
The range across the year is -17°C to 16°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Expect Lac Mesahikun to follow that timing.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. For a change of water, Lac Benes is 1 km distant. Treat Lac Mesahikun as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
