Solid cloud cover today, with just enough S wind to ripple the surface and no real change in pressure. The water to cover at Lac McMullin is the first drop-off and weed lines. The numbers single out the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac McMullin is listed under Outaouais, Quebec. The water sits 163 metres up. With some 23 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The edge runs 2.9 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. It is low-lying compared with other Quebec water we list. Val-des-Monts at 12 km is the nearest place to stop. After that come Wakefield at 12 km and Cantley at 21 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Records held for Outaouais cover pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. At Lac McMullin light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Temperature averages peak at 19°C in July and bottom out at -13°C in January. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough late April. Break-up sits around late April on average, with the water closing again about early December. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Time your trip to Lac McMullin by conditions rather than dates.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. If the gate is shut, Lac Bastien at 1.2 km is the nearest alternative. Treat Lac McMullin as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
