A wet system passing over today, with flat calm through the day with a settled glass. On Lac Marcel, work the calm side of the wind first. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac Marcel is set in Côte-Nord, Quebec. The water sits 309 metres up. It measures about 21 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. With about 1.9 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. For supplies, Betsiamites is 50 km out. Then Chute-aux-Outardes, 53 km, and Forestville, 60 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth figures are not published for this one. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Survey and observation records for Côte-Nord include logperch. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. At Lac Marcel light and wind decide more than tackle does.
In an average year July sits at 17°C and January at -17°C. The ice season is long here and the open one short. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. Break-up near early May, freeze-up near mid November: that is the shape of an average year. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. That is the shape of the year on Lac Marcel.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. Perch take small lures and worms fished near the bottom close to structure. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. The nearest alternative is Lac du Statu Quo, 1.6 km out. For Lac Marcel in particular, ask before you travel.
