Lac Manito is a Mauricie water, in Quebec. The water sits 367 metres up. About 8 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. La Tuque lies 51 km from the water. The nearest city of size is Trois-Rivières, 117 km away. Near neighbours include: Lac Mamawi after 0.8 km, Lac Manistique within 0.9 km, Lac a la Cane after 1.3 km, Lac Lydia within 2 km and Lac Marcelin after 2.5 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Across Mauricie, recorded fish include northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Lac Manito repays a walk before the first cast.
On the long-term average, July reads 17°C and January reads -16°C. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. In an average year the thaw lands around late April and the freeze near mid November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. On Lac Manito the same rules apply, with local timing.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Should this one be busy, Lac Mamawi is 0.8 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Manito in what we hold.
