No direct sun expected today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the NE with a settled glass. Most of the action on Lac MacLeod should come off the seam between weed and open water. The best of it runs night into morning. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

In Quebec, Lac MacLeod falls inside Laurentides. Salt water lies 31 km off. Surface area is around 14 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. About 2.0 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. Brownsburg-Chatham lies 19 km from the water. The nearest city of size is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 64 km away. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Records held for Laurentides cover pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Lac MacLeod repays a walk before the first cast.
Between January at about -13°C and July at about 19°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Winter puts a hard lid on this one. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near late April. The open-water window runs from around late April to about early December in an average year. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lac MacLeod fishes to that pattern most years.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Should this one be busy, Lac Keatley is 0.9 km off. What applies at Lac MacLeod may have changed since it was mapped.
